Tasting

Nose: fresh flowers, citrus and a bit of grassy undertones. A modern-style Meursault, meaning not too fat or buttery but rather going in the mineral precision direction. Great balance where maturity and power do not hide intrinsic freshness.
Mouth: generous and full-bodied with dried fruits balanced by citrus and quince. Beautiful length and ageing potential.

Food matching

Smoked salmon, chicken breast in creamy sauce, mature mountain cheese. Or just as a perfect treat for an aperitif!

History

Situation: a small plot (1/2 an hectare) in the village of Meursault, kingdom of Burgundy’s best whites. Rather old vines.
Know-how: hand harvested in small baskets. Vinified and aged in oak barrels, in a very traditional way. Ageing for 12 months (30% max new oak with fresh forests origins)

Tasting

Bright yellow colour. Charming nose on citrus and yellow fruits with a hint of fresh honey. Beautiful texture on the palate with a caressing enveloppe and a warm structure. A very fine and mouth-watering Burgundy full of pleasure and intensity.

Food matching

Gourmet aperitif (smoked salmon, goat cheese toasts with chives), grilled bream with fennel, farm poultry with cream and mushrooms, dry or mountain cheese.

History

The Domaine acquired these vineyards in 1994 and 2012 thanks to Françoise Poisard’s bequest. The vines are located in Chaintré to the south of the appellation, the majority being 35 to 90 years old. There are 5 plots: Les Plessys gives round and powerful wines, while Les Robées and Les Chevrières give wines of perfumed fruitiness with considerable minerality. La Chatière and Haut de Savy are more richly structured.

Deep yellow colour with green hues. Precision on the citrusy and flowery nose (lime, touch of grapefruit, linden). Finesse and intensity mingle on the palate. Despite the intensity and concentration of the 2020 vintage, this beautiful Meursault keeps its freshness and minerality.

Oysters and seafood, octopus salade with coriander, grilled fish, thaï mild spices soup.

Enjoy on its own with the respect due to this wine, or combine it with high level yet simple fine food. The wine must remain the star.

Nose: a «modern» Meursault in its typicity, without excesive opulence. Very nice balance where maturity does not override freshness.

History

Situation: small plot (not even half an hectare!). 35 years old vines. A rare wine (less than 2 000 bottles per year in average).
Savoir-faire: hand-picked Chardonnay grapes brought in small baskets to our winery in Beaune. Tradition vinification and ageing in 228 litres oak barrel (around 30% new oak, mainly from the Vosges region with middle-size grain.)

Tasting

Nez : citron pressé, pamplemousse rose. Pointe de menthe. Très précis et séduisant.
Bouche : belle combinaison de fraîcheur et vivacité. Bouche très enveloppante et salivante. La tension n’enlève pas le côté savoureux voire gourmand.

Crustacés, fruits de mer, tapas, quiche lorraine, salades composées.

History

Situation : à la pointe Nord-Est de l’appellation Montagny.
Savoir-faire : vendanges manuelles puis raisins transportés en petites caisses à la cuverie à Beaune. Vinification traditionnelle. Elevage : 50% en cuve pour garder la fraîcheur et 50% de fûts de 350 litres (20% de bois neuf) pour arrondir délicatement le vin.

Coming from the Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Terres Blanches, the Cuvée Pierre de Pème shows a beautiful yellow robe with golden hues. Nose: lemon and tangerine with great vivacity. Some flowers and spices too. Mouth is rich and generous, with a dash of nerve at the end keeping the wine’s vivacity.

Enjoy on its own or with a seafood platter, a cod grilled fillet with fennel puree, some old comte mountain cheese

History

Cuvée Pierre de Pème is the only white wine from the Hospices de Nuits-Saint-Georges.

Tasting

Clear yellow robe with honey tones. Citrusy nose with yellow stone fruits and hint of linden. Fine and enjoyable mouth with good amplitude. A pleasure-driven wine true to its beautiful origins from the Maconnais in South Burgundy.

Food matching

Enjoy on its own at the aperitif, with a few toasts of smoked salmon or dices of mountain cheese (comté). A spinach salad with chopped walnut, seabass filet or dry goat cheese will be a perfect match!
